Dear Welder Series… 1950 Chevy Pickup Mustang II?

Dear Welder Series…
Hey guys,
I have a 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup and I’m considering installing a IFS. I just wanted to know if the cross member and upper coil spring towers are cut for my truck frame and come designed with the proper geometry/anti dive etc or would I have to trim to fit. Also where can I buy new factory style mustang II upper and lower A arms that would fit your cross member.
Thanks for your time!
Robert

Dear Robert…
Thanks for writing, Robert.  The Welder Series crossmember and upper towers would be trimmed, by you, to fit your frame per our installation sheets.  This lets you set up your chassis at the final ride height with the tire size you will use.  The sheets are at http://welderseries.com/Mustang-II-Crossmember-Kit-Coil-Springs-p51209443 for the kit to use stock-type springs and shocks and at http://welderseries.com/Mustang-II-Crossmember-Kit-Coil-Overs-p51209593 for the kit that uses coil-overs.  Following these steps will give proper anti-dive no matter what rake the truck sits on.  Our kits are based on stock Mustang II geometry.

For OEM-style control arms, you could try Horton Hot Rod Parts at 1-888-876-2124.

I hope we can help with your projects.

Paul Horton
