Paul and I veered away from the Road Tour group this morning because of a couple of other commitments we had. We made a brief stop at Wild West Rods in Tucson.

After Tucson we drove to Phoenix to visit a customer, then headed to Yuma AZ to visit one of our dealers, Jim’s Rod Shop. For the past 2 days we had some problem getting service with our iphone (we discovered it was only a re-set issue). We wanted to call Jim but couldn’t use our phone nor access his number, so stopped at the Best Western Space Age Lodge in Gila Bend, AZ just 112 miles from Yuma. We asked if we could use their lobby computer to get his number. The lady even offered us their phone so we could call Jim. Nice clean motel and high marks for hospitality!

Before we left the Space Age Lodge, Paul used our infrared temperature gun on the cowl of the ’32. The asphalt had to be much higher than 147 F.

Approaching Yuma AZ. Our room at the Holiday Inn was wonderful. We had supper in their restaurant and each booth had a TV. Paul was able to watch game 7 of the Stanley Cup – and sadly see Vancouver lose to Boston. We were in bed by 8:45. An early evening with no morning deadline was much needed.
