Grant Schwartz of Schwartz Welding has completed a beautiful example of a narrowed Welder Series Mustang II crossmember.
It’s for a 1951 Prefect, and the finished track width ended up close to 48″, with 5/8″ narrowed control arms. He even managed to squeeze a small block Ford in there!
I was looking for information/pics of the narrowed mustang II crossmember.
i couldn’t find the link? what crossmember do i order for the 48in track measurement or do i just get any of them and cut it down myself…thanks, david
Hi David, sorry for the delay. You could get the 56″ kit and narrow it… it would be the least expensive option.
thanks for the reply,,thats exactly what I did…it came in the mail just 2 days ago will be looking to narrow soon…thank you, david
My 41 ford pickup commercial frame is 26-1/4″ inside and 32 outside. I do not see actual measurments on this item would this work for me? and do you have a coil over shock option?
Hi Todd, thanks for writing. You’d use the 56” or 58” track width crossmember for your truck… can you confirm which track width you’d prefer? We measure track width as the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. We have a crossmember designed for coil overs here: https://welderseries.company.site/Mustang-II-Crossmember-Kit-for-Coil-Overs-or-ShockWaves-p51209593
