Odometer as we left Hillsboro TX (roughly 30 minutes south of Dallas)about 11:00 am
Arrive downtown San Antonio about 4:30. We had stopped for some groceries for lunch, then visited Alamo Hot Rods just north of San Antonio earlier in the afternoon.
Staying at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel – all inside parking.
Quickly went out (in 98 degree heat) to see beautiful downtown San Antonio. Lovely old buildings.
Architecture is fascinating. So different than anything in Southern Ontario.
We have looked forward to walking along San Antonio’s Riverwalk for months. Just love this place. This is our fifth, maybe sixth, visit to San Antonio and our first visit in June. Other visits have been in either October or February. It’s a bit warmer in June.
Finally chose a restaurant – Landry’s Seafood. People walk along the Riverwalk inches from your table while the waiters/waitresses maneuver between the restaurant and the tables. One restaurant after another, sidewalks that curve around the river and most areas of the sidewalk have no railing…you could easily step off into the water.
