Total Performance (Salinas, CA) installed a Welder Series #WS22700 sway bar kit into their 1964 Comet they built for the SEMA show. Here’s some excerpts from the build thread on the H.A.M.B.
Mocking up the coilover location so we can determine how long to make the sway bar.
I got the bar all set in the location I felt was perfect. I then mounted the bags and the sway bar tabs, followed by the sway bar.
We added a center mounting tab for extra support.
This is the sway bar mount, which is mounted through the upper coilover bolt.
Getting ready to cut the bar to length.
One end of the sway bar is pinned and welded, the other end is splined.
Here’s the splined end of the bar, with a set screw.
You can see that I recessed the sway bar in the collar a bit to build up a nice hot weld as per the Welder Series instructions. Worked well. I also plug welded around the shaft.
Final welding the mounting tabs to the outer tube.
The sway bar is insulated from the outer tube with urethane bushings.
Axle tabs come with the kit too, as well as the heim joints.
